The Matsui Sakura Cask

Japanese Sakura. Delicate cherry blossom, ripe fruit and subtle spice – a whisky that leaves a lasting impression.

Type: Single Malt Whisky

Aroma: Floral and delicate with subtle notes of cherry blossom. A gentle sweetness combines with vanilla and restrained spice.

Taste: Round and well balanced with baked apple, creamy notes and dried lemon peel. Delicate woody spice accompanies the fruity sweetness.

Finish: Long-lasting and harmonious with lemon cream, fresh wood and finely roasted almonds.

Colour: Light gold.

Maturation: Matured for at least three years in Sakura casks made from Japanese cherry wood. This distinctive cask maturation gives the whisky its floral character and a delicate, elegant spice. Natural spring water from Mount Daisen is used to reduce the whisky to bottling strength.
