The Matsui Sakura Single Cask

Japanese Sakura, from a single Sakura cask – floral, full-bodied and exceptionally distinctive.

Type: Single Malt Whisky

Aroma: Delicate and floral with a subtle, sweet scent of cherry blossoms. Light fruit notes combine with the richer malt character to create a complex and inviting aroma.

Taste: Rich and full-bodied. Sweet malt notes meet delicate fruit and the characteristic floral aromas of Sakura wood. At 48% vol., the Single Cask is noticeably more intense and powerful than the classic Sakura Cask.

Finish: Long-lasting, smooth and harmonious with floral notes, delicate malt sweetness and a subtle woody spice.

Colour: Light gold.

Maturation: Matured for at least three years in a single cask made from Sakura wood, the wood of the Japanese cherry tree. As the whisky is bottled exclusively from one individual cask, each Single Cask release has its own distinct character and is available only in limited quantities. Natural spring water from Mount Daisen is used to reduce the whisky to bottling strength.
